## Overview

- **Who it's for**: Cable-cutting news viewers and CNN loyalists who wanted a dedicated streaming service for original journalism, interviews, and documentary programming outside CNN's regular cable broadcast.
- **What you get**: A standalone subscription streaming app with original daily shows, interviews, documentaries, and some CNN personalities not featured on cable, plus access to select cable simulcast content for subscribers. It launched March 29, 2022 as a separate paid product from CNN's cable channel and website. CNN shut it down about a month later, in late April 2022, after WarnerMedia merged with Discovery and the new leadership pulled funding.
- **How it works**: Users paid a monthly subscription to access the CNN+ app on phones, tablets, connected TVs, and the web, where they browsed and streamed its slate of original shows and documentaries on demand or live.
