Who it's for

People who want to self-host a keyboard-driven RSS/feed reader for keeping up with blogs and news sites, particularly former users of livedoor Reader or Google Reader-style tools who don't want a hosted subscription service.

What you get

Fastladder is a web-based feed reader with a three-pane, keyboard-navigable interface for scanning large numbers of subscriptions quickly. It supports folder-based feed organization and read/unread tracking, similar to livedoor Reader (its Japanese predecessor) and other Google Reader-era readers. As open-source software (available as OpenFL), you get the reader's code to deploy yourself, not a hosted product, since the original fastladder.com service was shut down.

How it works

You self-host the application on your own server (e.g., via Docker) with a supported database such as SQLite, MySQL, or PostgreSQL, add RSS/Atom feed URLs to folders, and then browse and mark items read using keyboard shortcuts in the web interface.
