Who it's for

API/platform teams and companies that publish public or partner-facing APIs (from startups to enterprises like ElevenLabs, Auth0, and NVIDIA) who need to maintain SDKs, docs, and a CLI across multiple languages.

What you get

Fern generates client SDKs in multiple languages, an API reference/docs website, and CLI tooling from a single OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, or gRPC/protobuf spec. Docs include AI features like an in-docs chat assistant and llms.txt/MCP support. Because everything is generated from one spec, changes propagate to all SDKs and docs at once instead of being updated by hand per language.

How it works

You define or import your API spec, then run the Fern CLI (fern generate) to produce synchronized docs, SDKs, and CLIs; output can be deployed to Fern's managed hosting or self-hosted.
