Who it's for

People who needed to send large files privately to another person, such as sensitive documents or media too big for email attachments.

What you get

A free web app for encrypted file transfer of files up to 1GB (2.5GB for signed-in Firefox account users). Files were end-to-end encrypted in the browser, and senders could set an expiration by number of downloads (1-100) or time (5 minutes to 7 days), plus an optional password. Links self-destructed once the limit was reached.

How it works

A user dragged a file into the browser page, which encrypted it and uploaded it to Mozilla's servers, generating a shareable link with the decryption key embedded; the recipient opened the link to download and decrypt the file before it expired or self-destructed.
