Alternatives to Komga
Self-hosted comics and manga
Komga ranks #6 of 11 in Media servers, with an Alt Score of 46. It is licensed under MIT, free and available on Windows, macOS and Linux. 10 of 10 checklist rows are verified against a public source.
Comic, manga, and ebook collectors who want to self-host and organize their own digital reading library rather than relying on cloud services.
Komga organizes CBZ, CBR, PDF, and EPUB files into libraries, collections, and reading lists, with metadata editing for series and books. It includes a built-in web reader for browsing and reading in-browser, plus OPDS support for third-party reader apps. Multi-user access with permissions is supported.
You install the Komga server, point it at folders containing your comic/manga/ebook files to create libraries, and it scans and catalogs them automatically. You then read via its web interface or connect an OPDS-compatible app to browse and download from the server.
