Who it's for

Firefox users who want the same browsing experience but without Mozilla's telemetry, sponsored content, and default trackers — a good fit for privacy-conscious users not ready to switch to a non-Firefox engine.

What you get

LibreWolf strips out Firefox's telemetry, data collection, and built-in ad/sponsor integrations, and ships with uBlock Origin pre-installed. It hardens default settings against tracking and fingerprinting, disables DRM (Widevine) by default, and swaps in privacy-respecting default search engines like DuckDuckGo. It is rebuilt from the latest Firefox stable source, so it inherits Firefox's security patches and feature set minus the privacy-invasive parts.

How it works

Install a build for your OS (Windows, macOS, or Linux via native packages/repos), then use it like standard Firefox — profiles, extensions, and bookmarks work the same way. Because it tracks Firefox stable releases, it updates through the same channel as new Firefox versions land, with community maintainers on Codeberg patching out unwanted components each time.
