Nuzzel was aimed at busy professionals and news-conscious social media users who wanted to keep up with what mattered in their network without scrolling through a full Twitter or Facebook feed.
Nuzzel surfaced news articles and links shared by the people a user followed on Twitter and Facebook, ranking stories by how many connections had shared them. It compiled these into a single feed and a daily or weekly email digest, helping users spot trending stories within their own network rather than a generic algorithmic feed. It also offered topic- and account-based news feeds separate from a user's personal network.
Users connected their Twitter and/or Facebook accounts, and Nuzzel scanned the links shared by the accounts they followed, surfacing the most-shared stories in a ranked feed or scheduled email digest. Nuzzel was acquired by Twitter (via Scroll) and shut down in 2021.
