Who it's for

People who wanted to share personal moments, photos, and updates with a small, curated circle of close friends and family rather than a broad public audience.

What you get

A private social network capped at a limited number of connections (initially 150, later raised to 500), a personal timeline for photos, thoughts, and daily moments like sleeping, waking, and listening to music. It included private messaging and reactions from your close network, with an emphasis on intimate sharing over public broadcast. The app was known for its distinctive, gesture-based mobile interface.

How it works

Users built a small, mutually-approved network of close contacts, then posted photos, status updates, and life moments to their personal timeline for that network to see and respond to via likes, comments, or private messages. Path shut down in October 2018 after being acquired by Daum Kakao.
