Who it's for

Students who need to retain large volumes of material for exams, especially medical, law, and other graduate students juggling dense coursework.

What you get

A note-taking app with an outliner editor, PDF and slide annotation, and handwriting support that doubles as a flashcard system. Notes and PDF highlights can be turned directly into flashcards (including image occlusion, cloze deletion, and Q&A formats) reviewed via spaced repetition. AI features can auto-generate flashcards and quizzes from PDFs, slides, videos, or text, and provide explanations or tutoring on demand. Works across desktop and mobile with offline sync.

How it works

You write or import notes (including PDFs and slides), and RemNote lets you tag portions of text as flashcards or auto-generates them with AI. A spaced-repetition scheduler then queues those cards for review at increasing intervals timed to reinforce memory before you forget.
