Microsoft ended support for these apps on December 31, 2024, and Windows 11 now ships with the new Outlook as the default mail app instead. Existing Mail, Calendar, and People installations still run but no longer receive updates, and Microsoft recommends migrating to new Outlook or Outlook.com for continued email and calendar functionality.
Users added one or more email accounts within the apps to sync mail, calendar events, and contacts automatically; Microsoft now directs users to export their data and switch to the new Outlook for Windows app, which consolidates the same functionality under one interface.
