Alternatives to Ellipal
Air-gapped QR-code hardware wallet
Ellipal ranks #8 of 12 in Hardware wallets, with an Alt Score of 78. It is proprietary, sold as a one-time purchase from $79.00 USD and available on iOS and Android. 11 of 12 checklist rows are verified against a public source.
Crypto holders who want the strongest possible isolation for their private keys — no USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or NFC ever touches the device — and are willing to trade some convenience for a fully air-gapped, metal-sealed cold wallet with tamper self-destruct.
A physical, metal-sealed hardware wallet (ELLIPAL Titan 2.0 or the cheaper Titan Mini) with a color touchscreen and camera, a CC EAL5+ certified secure element, BIP39 seed-phrase backup with optional passphrase, and support for 40+ blockchains and 10,000+ assets. It pairs with the free ELLIPAL mobile app (iOS/Android) purely over QR codes — there is no desktop app.
You generate and store your keys entirely offline on the device. To transact, the ELLIPAL app builds an unsigned transaction as a QR code; the device's camera scans it, you review and sign on-device ("what you see is what you sign"), and the device displays a signed QR code that the app scans to broadcast — no cable or wireless link is ever used. The device also connects to MetaMask/WalletConnect-based dapps and can act as a signer in Gnosis Safe multisig setups over WalletConnect.
