Who it's for

Developers and teams who want to deploy full-stack apps, APIs, and databases without managing servers or complex cloud infrastructure. Well suited for workloads that need to run close to users worldwide, including AI agents and sandboxed/untrusted code execution.

What you get

App and database hosting that runs in 30+ regions globally, deployed straight from a Dockerfile or common framework (Rails, Phoenix, Django, Node, Laravel, .NET) without extra config. Includes private networking, built-in TLS, persistent volumes, and managed Postgres. Machines can scale to zero or fork instantly to handle bursts, so you pay mainly for active compute.

How it works

Fly.io packages your app into Fly Machines — fast-booting, hardware-virtualized micro-VMs (KVM-based, not just containers) — and places them in the regions you choose. A global Anycast network and built-in proxy route each request to the nearest running machine, and machines can start, stop, or scale automatically based on traffic.

Why people leave Fly.io
