IT teams and organizations that need to store, share, and manage passwords collectively, especially security-conscious teams (DevOps, sysadmins, larger companies) that want control over where their credential data lives.
An open-source, self-hostable password manager built on OpenPGP encryption, so each credential is encrypted end-to-end and private keys never leave the user's device. It provides granular, per-item sharing and permissions, folders and tags for organizing credentials, and browser extensions plus mobile and desktop clients for autofill and autosave. Being self-hosted (Docker, Kubernetes/Helm, or native Linux install), organizations keep full control of their data instead of trusting a third-party cloud vault.
Admins deploy the Passbolt server on their own infrastructure, then users install the browser extension and generate an OpenPGP key pair protected by a passphrase to log in. Credentials are encrypted individually and shared with specific users or groups by granting access, which re-encrypts the secret with the recipient's public key rather than exposing a shared master password.
