Who it's for

Individual Trello users who wanted personal customization and productivity perks without upgrading an entire team to a paid plan.

What you get

Gold added custom board backgrounds, stickers, and emoji, file attachments up to 250MB, and extra Power-Ups per board beyond the free plan's one-Power-Up limit. It also included perks like saved searches and additional Butler automation rules. Trello discontinued Gold in October 2021, moving most of its perks (custom backgrounds, stickers, unlimited Power-Ups) into the free plan and folding the rest into the new Standard tier.

How it works

Users bought or earned (via referrals) a Gold subscription that applied automatically to their personal account across any boards they created. The plan is no longer sold; existing subscriptions expired and were not renewed after 2021.
